SOMETHING IS MISSING. WHAT IS IT?
Have you ever felt like something is missing? God knew you before you were born. You were not a mistake, for God uniquely and purposefully designed you. He made exciting plans for your life even before your first breath. He knows you completely and loves you unconditionally. GOD CHOSE YOU! God created you to feel incomplete without a relationship with Him. He ever so gently draws you nearer to Him as he patiently pursues a relationship with you through circumstances, prayer, the Bible, and other people who have a relationship with Him. If something is missing in your life, it is an intimate relationship with God through Jesus. All you have to do is surrender...and just say yes, God, I need you come into my heart!
SOMETHING WAS MISSING IN MY LIFE
I spent most of my life knowing that something was missing, and wondering what it was. I ran in all the wrong directions trying to escape the storms of life and faced a lot of consequences for it. I believed that God existed, but I didn't think that He had a plan and purpose for my life and I didn't know anything about Him or how to reach out to Him.
It wasn't until 1998 that I realized that God actually cared about me personally and longed for a relationship with me. During a season of brokenness, of what I call an intersection of tragedies in my life, I became more curious about God. In November of 1998, I gazed across the Gulf of Mexico at sunset during a memorial service for a friend who passed away unexpectedly. The service deeply touched my heart like never before and so did God. One speaker glowed as he admired God’s creation in the setting sun. He was so passionate about God and saw beauty I longed to see. Gradually, I connected with people who were developing a closer relationship with God. When I heard a new friend's prayer over Thanksgiving dinner with the grieving family and heard her cry out to God and saw the peace she had, I wanted that too. My search for that something that was missing accelerated.
God met me in the middle of that intersection in life, and I gave my life, mind, and heart to God, accepting Jesus as my Lord and Savior on New Year’s Eve that year--the midnight fireworks marked the heavenly celebration of my new life! I allowed Jesus to renew my heart and began a journey that is increasingly incredible. I began to get a sense of God's purpose in my life and eventually was led to show God's love and bring light in the darkness to the Roma of Romania. While I still encounter adversity, I no longer feel like something is missing, and now know how to find peace, comfort, strength and joy through my relationship with God. The journey has been an exciting adventure.
